Re: How to optimize Virtual Machine? TobiasKracht Sep 8, 2009 7:07 AM ( in response to Gemini300590 ) VM should have a lot of RAM, at least 1 Gb, and better to copy file to VM and then open it. Virtual desktops – In contrast, in a virtual environment, the guest operating system behaves as if it has exclusive access to the CPU cores, but in reality the cores are shared between 2 to 8 virtual machines. When using nonpersistent VMs or user profiles, the actions that are intended to run only once could run every time a user logs on. Note: VMOptimizer is not being sold anymore and is listed only for people who had purchased it in the past. VMOptimizer is a specialised tool for optimizing VMWare Fusion virtual machines. VM files are actually a directory full of files, each of which holds data for part of the virtual machine’s disk. To optimize a VM, you just need to mount the VM Optimizer ISO image file to the VM as a virtual CD-ROM drive, and with auto-run enabled in the VM’s guest OS, VM Optimizer will start once the CD is mounted. VM Optimizer includes two unique CD-ISO builds: automated and manual. The automated version requires no user intervention. The traditional approach to optimizing virtual desktops or RDSH servers is to use a golden image. You apply optimizations to the golden image, which is used to create a desktop pool. You can also use a golden image to deploy multiple RDSH servers.

In a virtual desktop environment, optimizing desktops provides users with the best performance and reduces the load on virtual machine hosts and storage. In the past, VMware has provided IT desktop administrators with scripts to optimize desktop images in a VMware View implementation.
With VMware View 5, we have added a user profile management feature: View Persona Management. This feature requires that you turn on the Volume Shadow Copy service (VSS), which was disabled in previous optimization scripts. We have enhanced the scripts in the VMware View Optimization Guide for Windows 7so you can optimize desktops for a View 5 Persona Management implementation. Optimization scripts are now provided for desktops in a View implementation either with or without Persona Management. In addition, we provide a script to convert previously optimized Windows 7 View desktops so they are ready for Persona Management in View 5.
Details
The standard VMware script for optimizing Windows 7 desktops for View without Persona Management disables VSS and other non-essential services. However, View Persona Management relies on VSS, so you must enable it for a Persona Management implementation. For a View implementation with Persona Management, the Windows 7 desktop optimization script excludes these commands that disable VSS: https://bkai.over-blog.com/2021/02/sims-4-online.html.

Hi everyone,
I am having trouble interconnecting Virtual machines(vm's) in my vmware wokstation 9.0. I have set all of them to LAN segment 1;prior to that they were all connected to a custom vmnet2. I want to construct a private lan inside vmware. I have already assigned a static ip for each;didn't assign any default gateway, since I want to make it a private lan, where I can configure DC,DNS etc.Well the problem undermining the circumstances arises out of the fact that pinging to another vm is unsuccessful for any of the vm. Beside that, there is no option for creating a team in vmware 9.0. Could anyone specify me where I went wrong;is a team necessary for a private lan,if so which version would you suggest?; else a detailed documentation of a step by step procedure will be much appreciated.
I need to hook it up asap;if anyone would kindly take his/her time in explaining to me my cons and help me set it up,it would be much appreciated.
